In 1998, in Harbin, China, Harbin Sayas Window Industry Co., Ltd. was officially established. At that time, the domestic window market was still dominated by traditional aluminum and PVC systems. The founding team keenly recognized the huge potential of European aluminum-clad wood window technology: it preserves the warm, tactile feel of solid wood on the inside, while the outer aluminum layer greatly enhances durability and weather resistance.
Sayas took the lead in introducing German wood window systems into China and, more importantly, creatively proposed the concept of “aluminum-clad wood windows,” opening a new chapter for high-end, energy-efficient windows and doors in the Chinese construction industry.
Breakthrough: From Extreme Cold Labs to Industry Benchmark
Harbin’s winter, with temperatures dropping to –30°C, became Sayas’s most demanding natural test lab. With “high-efficiency energy saving” as its core, Sayas worked closely with German technical experts to develop some of China’s first aluminum-clad wood windows that met passive house standards.
In 2003, the first “passive aluminum-clad wood window” was launched. Its heat transfer coefficient (U-value) was as low as 0.8 W/(㎡·K), far better than Chinese national standards and even exceeding many European requirements.
Commitment: The Craft Philosophy of Wood and Aluminum
Sayas’s pursuit of quality borders on obsessive:
Global Sourcing: FSC-certified timbers such as Nordic pine and North American black walnut are carefully selected to ensure natural and consistent grain.
German-Level Craftsmanship: Advanced equipment from Germany, Italy, and Austria is combined with a “three-coat, two-bake” water-based paint system, allowing the wood to “breathe” while resisting moisture and corrosion.
Invisible Technology: The outer aluminum frame uses a concealed drainage design, while the inner wood frame is hand-finished to a precision of 0.1 mm. Opening and closing noise is kept below 20 dB.
“Aluminum is the armor, wood is the soul.”
Guided by this belief, Sayas has become a trusted partner for the restoration and construction of cultural landmarks such as the Palace Museum and Aman Summer Palace, and is the first Chinese wood window enterprise to be certified by the German Passive House Institute (PHI).
Innovation: From Single Product to Full-Scope Solutions
Over the past two decades, Sayas has continuously expanded its product boundaries. From aluminum-clad wood windows, the portfolio has extended to aluminum alloy windows, new-generation PVC windows, entrance doors, sunrooms, and curtain walls—providing holistic opening solutions for building façades.
At the same time, Sayas continues to drive technological upgrades:
Smart Window Systems: Integrated hidden sensors monitor temperature and humidity in real time and automatically adjust ventilation.
Photovoltaic Window Frames: Combining solar technology with window systems, transforming windows into energy-generating components of the building.
Fire Protection: Products have passed fire tests at the Japan Building Material Test Center, opening up applications in high-rise and special-use buildings.
Future: Green Buildings as a Shared Responsibility
As a “National Technology Innovation Demonstration Enterprise” in China, Sayas has always stood at the forefront of the industry:
Green Commitment: For every window produced, a tree is planted in Inner Mongolia.
Lifetime Service: Sayas established the country’s first “Window Hospital,” offering long-term care and up to 30-year warranties.
Policy Leadership: Its ultra-low-energy window systems have been included in national recommended product lists for building energy efficiency, contributing to China’s dual-carbon (“carbon peak and carbon neutrality”) goals.
“Through each window, we see the world; through green buildings, we reshape China.”
For 25 years, Sayas has embodied its core value of “With love and warmth” by making every window a point of harmony between nature and technology, quietly protecting the comfort and well-being of millions of families.
